LICET Schools Quality Policy

The LICET Schools guarantee compliance with the following quality requirements:

1. They teach Italian language and culture as their exclusive or predominant activity, either year-round or seasonally.
2. They have a physical and permanent location where in-person courses are held: address, company name, phone contacts and email addresses, VAT number/tax code are indicated on the website.
3. They comply with current laws and legal requirements stipulated by Italian law to operate their activity.
4. They have been offering courses in Italian as a foreign or second language for at least two years. Exceptionally, newly established schools may be admitted to Licet, subject to the acceptance of the Association's Executive Committee after assessing specific previous merits or the clear reputation of the founders.
5. The information about the school displayed on the website or in informational brochures is truthful. In particular:
   a) They clearly describe the duration of the courses, the number of daily or weekly lesson hours, and the course prices.
   b) They clearly inform about any enrollment fees and any additional expenses beyond the course registration fee (such as costs for teaching materials, use of certain school equipment, etc.).
   c) They inform about the maximum number of people in group courses.
6. The course curricula refer to the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
7. Courses are taught by native teachers (or non-native speakers with C2 language proficiency and qualification for teaching Italian) and who hold a degree or specific glottodidactic qualification.
8. Students are assigned to the appropriate level class based on an evaluation conducted by the Educational Board of the school.
9. At the end of a course, upon request, a certificate of attendance and completion is available to be issued.
10. Schools periodically offer additional cultural activities (related to history, art, archaeology, music, food and wine, etc.).
11. Schools provide enrolled students with the necessary assistance for integration in Italy: information on transportation, cultural events, and local traditions and customs. They may also offer additional support in finding accommodations during the study-stay period and in visa application processes.
12. Each Licet school is inspected once every two years by a delegate from the board of directors to ensure that the aforementioned standards continue to be met over time. If even one of the quality requirements is not satisfactory, the school is required to comply within two months; otherwise, it will be excluded from the association.
13. Any complaints can be submitted to the Licet Association’s Management which reserves the right to take action in the event that member schools fail to comply with the points listed here or behave in an ethically inappropriate manner.
