TheAssociazione SCUOLE LICET (Lingua Italiana, Cultura e Turismo) was born, we would say spontaneously, in June 2020, following a series of discussions between a number of Italian schools for foreigners scattered throughout the country. Themes such as the crisis of tourism, the collapse of international travel, the fear for activities that provide for socialization and the perspectives of a recovery of cultural tourism that will presumably take many months if not years, are some of the elements that inspired us to create a group in order to face said problems together.
Only from the meeting and collaboration between these centres, whether large or small, present in every Italian region, both in the great cities of art as well as industry, in the tourist towns by the sea and in the picturesque medieval villages which Italy is rich in, can we hope to find the necessary energy to overcome a moment– it’s useless to deny - of extreme complexity.
The meeting between schools of Italian L2 gave furthermore, beyond the opportunity to address the current problem, the opportunity to demonstrate that the traditional distrust and naive competitive attitude among certain schools can be overcome through the awareness that the interests of a single school are much better protected if all schools are able restart their activities thanks to the recovery of the activities of all. We were able to create a fully collaborative spirit, and we are happy that even schools located in the same towns or regions decided to join the Association. We hope that this collaboration will continue and bear fruit even after the pandemic has been overcome.
Those interested in joining, prior to completing the application form, can read the Association’s Certificate of Incorporation and the Articles of Association.
